about

"The Legend Of John Von Bern" is comprised of 15 original acoustic guitar instrumentals. The goal of the Minute Sessions was to take existing instrumentals and distill them down to about a minute. Most pieces are between one and two minutes, with one over two minutes, totaling about 18 minutes in length. Originally these instrumentals would total about an hour of music.

Videos are also included. They can be viewed on YouTube as a playlist. The audio was extracted from the videos for this recording. All recording and editing was done on an IPhone with a Focusrite ITrack, stereo microphones. The recording is organic and purposely left that way. I believe this suits the music and the guitar, a Martin 00-15m.

The Legend Of John Von Bern is dedicated to the late John Fahey and Anton Von Webern. American Primitive with a touch of Vienna.
